Another dawn, another day,
Yet the sun seems shadowed now;
Gone is some of its light
In the aftermath of horror.
How to go on
When the pain eviscerates the soul?
Where to turn
When evil's image seems everywhere?
The days will pass,
The pain will peak,
Then ebb,
And the sun will regain its brilliance;
But let us not forget the innocents lost
One snowy gray morning in April,
For they, and we, have paid a terrible price
For the unchecked madness of another.
Be safe,
Karen
