Everyday wishes...
Everyday dreams...
How special are they--
Really?
Each day dawns
Bright with hope,
A new beginning,
A new opportunity
For fulfillment;
Yet dusk falls
And what I seek
Seems ever further away.
Perhaps these wishes,
These dreams,
Were never meant to be;
Or maybe, like the moon,
The distance is an optical illusion.
Maybe they are closer than they seem
And I need only wake another morning
To realize
They've become real
After all.
