It's been six months
Since you left us
And you'd think by now
I'd have accepted
Your loss,
Yet last night
I dreamt it was all
A big mistake,
That the doctors
Had saved you
And made you well.
Imagine my sorrow
When I awoke
And relearned
The horrible truth,
That you aren't coming back,
That I won't see you again
For many years to come.
My heart shattered
All over again.
Oh, Momma,
How I miss you.
So much.

Karen and I lost our beloved Mom almost 18 years ago - we miss her, still - powerful, shattering reality in heartbreaking lines - I'm sorry for your loss. :(
