I discovered new waters yesterday
And decided to try my luck
Despite my long history
Of disappointments;
Would anyone out there
Be interested
In my particular brand
Of (al)lure?
So with keyboard in hand
I explored the denizens of the depths
And quickly ruled out most
As being too young
Or too strange;
But then
One swam by with likely appeal!
So with nervous fingers
I cast my lines
With honest bait.
Would he bite,
I wondered as the hours passed?
Then I decided to try a different approach.
Why not try for new friends as well?
So I set platonic nets for those
With similar interests.
Only afterward did I consider:
I hope there are no sharks
In these murky waters.
