I am so much more
Than what you see!
Look beyond
The imperfect body,
The moon-shaped face,
The graceless, painful gait,
And find
A woman soft,
Possessed of
Virtue,
Humor,
And a heart
Brimming
With warmth
And untapped dreams.
But what you see
Is an illusion.
You must
Take a chance...
Have patience...
For In months
A butterfly
Will flutter free
Of the chrysalis
And she will remember
Those who believed
In her.
Sad, in a way, not being accepted for whom you are until you conform to society's (imperfect) image of what a woman is supposed to look like - these lines,

And yet, change must come - powerful metaphor - well done.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
