Will spring ever come?
The days of my life
Fly by
With all of their comedy
And drama
And I live each moment
With purpose
And gratitude;
But it is for spring
I yearn,
And those days we've chosen
To sequester ourselves
In that boutique inn
Off the square in Jackson.
What will we discover there
When we meet at last?
After months of telephone calls
And cyber talk,
Shared photos
And shared dreams,
Will there be enough between us
To hold the bond
We will forge with our bodies?
You tell me
Not to think so much,
But that is who I am
And what I do
When faced
With such a terrific risk.
Do you not feel it as well?
If you tend to believe romantic, passionate, masculine poetry is a thing of past eras, read "She Intrigues Me," and be swept away in the beautiful craft of a contemporary poet of love.
