What dreams are those
Waving at me
Upon the distant ridge?
I don't know anymore
And at the moment
I am almost too tired
To care.
What is it
About me
That breeds failure
Like mongrels
In a purebred world?
Why, when I reach
For success,
Do I succeed
Only in falling
On my face?
But I'll pick myself up
And try again,
For not to do so
Would mean I am dead,
And I am very much alive!
