Could the accusations

Be true ?

Could it be that

I have come to consider

My many visits

To doctors

As a remedy

For my lack

Of a social life?

I would argue that

My ailments are real,

That their diagnosis

Have been verified

Through tests

And examinations,

But, secretly,

I must confess

I do gain more

Than medical care

When I see the doctors;

I gain the kind and personal attention

So lacking elsewhere

In my life.

Knowing this shames me

And makes me question

If my complaints,

While real enough,

May, in fact, be rooted

Within my own

Psyche.
