Poem Artwork

And as we hunker down,
Doing what we can to
Protect ourselves and
Those we love,
We begin to understand what
Is most important
To us;
It is not celebrity,
It is not the accumulation
Of stuff,
It is not our
Unchecked ambitions;
Rather,
It is the intangible,
Those things we feel
Yet cannot see;
It is our community,
Known and stranger alike,
That gives us the
Strength of
Spirit
To endure,
And from
Our loved ones,
Our very will to
Survive.
I pray that
When the crisis has passed
We will emerge from hiding and
Remember
The lessons we
Have learned,
Remembering always
What is truly
Most important
To us.

Indeed, this situation is teaching us all lessons that we may never have learned without this experience. It's like a disaster movie, with whole cities shut down and world economies in collapse. As you say, it's hopefully the lessons learned that will survive.

Wonderfully stated! Pray that we will heed those lessons!

Omega Factor by John Henning

Take some time to walk outside of your own mind and into another, walk slowly and carefully; the mind that you step on might be your own.
