Dawns of Creation, recently published in Abstemious Doves, speaks to the power of surrendering to motherhood - accompanied by a beautiful slice of the Atlantic coast in early morning.

Dawns of Creation -

 by Salome G. Rowe

_

Dawn, before the sun rose,

gave up her job and walked out.

Dawn, before the night came, brought food to make life right for her people.

Dawn, before the storms came,

canned peas, beans and pickled charm.

Dawn, before the babies came, danced till the sun rose and set.

Dawn, before the marriage, sang high-pitched and in tune.

Dawn, before midnight, lost herself to Al Truistic’s bright lights.

Dawn, before the verdict was passed, taught Sunday school without fail.

Dawn created -

Gave birth to - Gave in to - Gave up for

Overcame and Created for -

Over and -

Over and -

Over.

Dawns of Creation -

Give and, give, and give

and give -

Life Everlasting.

Life is in the details and living teaches us that the smaller ones are the more important ones.
