when I began writing, again...it was after a long hybernation. My own esteem and self value seemed small and insignificant. I put away, those things of my youth. Education, writing, music, even painting. I traded them in for laundry and diapers, unable to conceive of the notion that I could retain those parts of myself and incorporate the lot. Oh, I told my children faery stories that I would close my eyes and imagine for them. Weaving tales and rhyme for their entertainment. And..from time to time, I would dust off the old guitar and write them a lullabye...or renditions of Puff The Magic Dragon. But it wasn't till several years ago, that I peeled away the protective, albeit complacent, crysalis of who I was...and began to emerge as who I was meant to be. Famous? perhaps not...(I am more apt to be remembered as 'infamous') but that is no matter...for the first time in my 47 years, I am happy to be me. (good thing, I should say...unless we could get some other saucy redhead to play the part....hmmmm Bette Midler?? wouldn't that be a hoot!)
I suppose, what I am taking an incredibly longwinded way round to say, is that..many of you have known me from my poetic inception...way back on YP. You have given me support in my work..many have become friends beyond the poetic commentaries...and now, I am here..at AD. The circle has grown, The path has become brighter..because of the light that each of you bring. You have inspired me, encouraged me...some have cried with me. You have explored the sensual, the serious and the silliness that is intrinically..who I am. I can never express thanks enough. You've all helped me to find my wings.
I hope that I have been able to do the same, in some small way.
I would be lying, if I said, there were no challenges. Life is a challenge..add in the complexities of health, relationships, love...etc..BUT,
Yes, Joel and Belle...et al..I'm doing great. The cast is annoying, but it is a small challenge, at best.
I try to retain the philosophy...all days are good days..just some are better. I figure, if my feet hit the floor in the morning and they aren't burning, and there is no smell of sulphur before coffee...hey! I'm good to go! (Thomas, are you cooking again??wicked giggle)
