On the dark, mournful day the magic died
Nine muses hung their heads and cried
Disappeared beneath the shadowed mists
Lavish land brave lords of legend kissed
Enchanted passed though ordinary’s door
When the Kingdom Of Camelot was no more
Camelot your brightest banners waved
In your streets a constant proud parade
Of noble knights and their ladies fair
Who could even imagine, who would dare
To contemplate your end would draw near
Eyes filled with tears and hearts with fear?
The ancient landmarks welcomed the sun
And plotted the stars when night had come
The chants of druids soon in silence to end
And never mid the pillars to be heard again
Sprites and wood nymphs their faces hide
On the dark, mournful day the magic died
We yet vision you lost in shadows of time
And as circling years continuously unwind
Forgotten Celtic songs drift on a mystic wind
Ere we visit Avalon and Camelot again
In our souls the magic is ever alive and well
Mid the tales of Camelot hearts still tell
May we always reign in it's beauty LaBelle!

this is especially dear to my heart, Belle, living literally a 30 minute drive from the reputed hallowed grounds of Avalon and Camelot, I believe. And yes, their is most certainly the sense of magic, mystery and mysticism in the airs there and the light is most extraordinary. The architecture may be lost, but the grounds bear witness to a spiritual presence still. Love the soul in this poem, and the fellowship therein... almost Lord Of The Rings-like!
