you’ll never find me in the dark
when night chases twilight away
you don’t know where i walk
if you knew would you care?
do i want to tell you....is it pride
or possibly pain that seals my lips?
is it distance or is it disdain?
the past or the present dividing
two hearts that once embraced
the love conceived between them?
we make our mistakes, we accept
the hopelessness of impossibility
and when the path forks two ways
we endure the agony of never
you don’t see the grim shadows
creeping, lying long across my valley
or how the bench in our sunlit garden
will soon belong to another lifetime
you won’t miss what you missed
you’ll forget the fire of eternal kiss
sacrificed for cold season of honor
we live and die with our mistakes
no, you don’t know where i walk
places you'd never think to look
you won’t miss me when i disappear
beyond the horizon of your dreams
you don’t know where i walk
and it's too late for you to follow
Very melancholy and emotonally write. You've pulled the strings of my heart with this one. Your a very captivating writer my friend and always a pleasure to read. Peace, Love and Blessings Always, Paul.
Maybe he was waiting sitting on the wrong bench in the wrong park, asking himself why...why she didn't came?...
Life is so unfair sometime, playing with people's destiny, making the to miss each other when they were so made for each other, and instead make them to bump into someone that will make their pitiful lives yet more pitiful with a lot of what ifs...
Solemn, yet beautiful photograph! "It's too late for you to follow" pretty well sums up this marvelous piece, yet it contains a sadness that seems to linger....
Beautiful Photo of emotion a Belle,

The extreme emotions here are often those I've felt. Some people/lovers are so very selfish that they don't absorb the love stretched out before them. What a sad commentary when love is one sided and blind.
Blessings and love,
Susan
This is sad and touched me deelpy too. In a way the message goes out to all and is needed by all to read for their futures and living in the now. Thanks for this poem from your heart. I must read it over to get more meaning from it.
Poignantly penned, can barely see for the tears rolling down my face - you know how to squeeze the heart, La Belle. Your poetry reaches deep - excellent.
My heart is filled with sadness as I read this. Reminds of when my first marriage ended ... tragic. Yet, the road traveled alone is better than traveling with a 'bad' companion.

I met Jerome on a busy city street in Baltimore, Maryland, when he was forty-five years old. On that particular day, I was out and about, enjoying a much-needed day off from work.
