you believed you knew
but you never really did
so many times you’d say
“you are a strong woman”
while inside I was broken
into a million fearful shards
of confusion’s desperation
and all I really wished for
was the feel of your arms
gently slipping around me
the pillow of your shoulder
to cradle my aching head
and now my soul is adrift
on an infinite ocean of pain
strength becomes irrelevant
when you’ve drowned at last
in arctic waves of weakness
floating, with unseeing eyes
fixed and glazed, and heart
stilled, stony hard with hurt
but you never really knew
how broken a woman can be
or how much I needed to feel
the safe circle of your arms
I hope time will heal all broken hearts...I know it is hard to be strong, but one should try. Intense feelings and powerful poem, made me really sad.

Strength comes from loving yourself, fearing nothing, always bouncing back toward completeness. I love the intensity of this poem, very stirring to say the least!

Strong woman or not / Strong man or not / The fact is where both can be strong individuality to a point, nothing can break through love's glue when both are of one / When that bond is loosened or broken, both lose a little of their strength.
A dear one that knows how tenderly to put together all the pieces is what's needed, a devoted one, the one that can transform sadness tears in tears of happiness that will wash away all fears.
