it would be easy to hate the hateful
but hating them would only hurt me
for they are too calloused to wound
with my thoughts or words of anger
so I feel the anger deep within and
after expressing it to God I ask for
grace to purge it all from my spirit
and leave it in the hands of the one
with the right to dispense judgment
I feel confused, blindsided by such
dark, cunning lies, spiteful schemes
then I remember my grandmother’s
admonition when faced with injustice
“chickens always come home to roost”
so I console myself with the knowledge
that there will be a great homecoming
of all the little, nasty roosters and hens
you sent to shit on my flower garden
and, after all, if it lays there all winter
by springtime, when my flowers bloom,
chicken shit becomes a great fertilizer
that's what's always amused me about chickens... not only do they shit well, but they always look so calm, aloof and as though butter wouldn't melt while they're doing it! Their stuff sure does burn, but if bulbs and roots survive its stringency the resulting blooms are a joy to behold. I'm sure you will be the one "crowing" at the end of the day, Belle, when Reynard has rained down his judgement! :)) xx

First, let me say that I'm so glad that you have recovered your vision and can post so frequently as before. So many have dropped off in ill health.
I always thought water "flowed under the bridge," but in this case it appears that everything about the written correspondence was "over the top," while when an actual conversation communication failed.
This appears to be autobiographical, but that's okay, because it brings out your best.

It can be SO hard. There's a lot of wisdom in these lines, and also, ahem, "a pile of wit." I admire your attitude. May your garden be a showplace this Spring....I'm sure your inner garden is blooming even now.
