Mr. Spock live long and prosper in your new life.

"Vulcans never bluff."*
Mr. Spock

My True Confession

I’m a trekkie… yes it’s true , I am
I seldom confess it
and never have I confessed it
in public

Star Trek brings out the adventurer in me
I’d like to boldly go
where no man/woman has before
especially now, since it seems
our whole world might be blown up
by some power hungry idiot
with an A-bomb and an itchy trigger finger

I’d like to think we had an alternative
to annihilation and oblivion
a new home… even if the natives
have wrinkled purple faces
a third eye in the back of their heads
and speak riddles in a language
that sounds like gibberish

I’m sure we could defeat culture gap
if we drank enough of that
potent, blue Romulen wine at dinner

I’m a die hard trekkie
sometimes during a day from hell
I feel like screaming into my flip phone
“Beam me up Scottie”

Captain Kirk was the obvious love interest
of most of the female crew members
and an occasional green skinned alien lady

but Spock, Spock the pointy eared
pan faced Vulcan really turned me on
It was simply illogical but I think
it was his cold logic
that fired my irrational emotion

anyway, I still watch the reruns
sometimes when I need to escape
the trials and tribulations
of being an earthling

and when your brave heroes
are being attacked
by cloaked Klingon warships
or eaten alive by intelligent artichokes
life on Earth don’t seem so bad after all

Another Trekie, me.
Not many of the original crew left.
Guess we are getting older.
It's only logical.
Live long and prosper.

The hottest girl in my year at school had the hots for Kirk and used to snog his picture pinned to the underside of her desk lid incessantly at break times. The more discerning of us, however, kept our cool to imitate the allure of the disarmingly aloof logician on board; I'm with you, Belle. And I still can't get my fingers to do that! :) xx

I still watch the reruns too, and Mr. Spock will be missed.

There's nobody else,
who could've played the part.
Live long and prosper,
from a treker at heart.

For the most part Roddenberry managed to keep our imagination at Warp speed. Our Mr. Spock was certainly further advanced than Benjamin Spock(!). You bring up memories long stored away Belle. Thank you. Jon Michael

You can still experience that and more by joining the imaginative 100 Year Starship led by former astronaut, Dr. Mae Jemison, like I have the past three years. While Leonard Nimoy, in the guise of Mr. Spock may be gone, the spirit of Gene Roddenberry and the lure of going to the stars, is not.

Well, well, now you have to hide your head in shame after this "true" confession. But worry not, LaBelle, there are millions hanging their heads right along with you. I'm the guy near the center of the trekkie wearing a beanie cap with a propeller on top.

I have been watching Star Trek ever since I was a little girl. I love it then, and I still Love it now, including all the new ones.
