Shattered

I am breaking, or maybe broken
shattered, trying to hold the pieces together
I have carried this load, carried it, carried it
until I can't stand up under it anymore
dying inside, dying outside doesn't seem so bad
I know all the cliches and platitudes
about not being given more than you can handle
but I can't handle this anymore, that's a fact
that's the one thing I know is true
and I'm done, broken, trampled by wild horses
of a life that has always been out of control
beyond my control, uncontrollable
but has now become impossible
there is no deity who is going to handle
all these problems, all this responsibility
that daily weighs me down to the ground
God is not going to swoop down
and take over all these things I've had to do
for more years than I can remember
and I'm contemplating, what now?
can you just drop a burden off your back
turn and walk away, will you be free?
how much can one woman stand and is this
some kind of sick contest to find out?
I don't want or need any sermons
I want answers, real answers, real solutions
I don't want or need sermons about grace
and thankfulness....I want relief
and I won't find it in your pious words
so keep those words to yourself and
learn to be real, because real people
who are really broken, need real understanding

Belle, There are answers for you and relief will come...God handles things in his time not ours and he hears everything and knows the right time to take care of your burdens. I know for I have been in your situation many times. Please don't feel shattered, God wants you to put all these broken pieces that you feel into his hands and have Faith!

Always,
Deborah

WHEN WE ARE AT OUR LOWEST...GOD IS AT HIS HIGHEST. WE DO NOT THINK OR ACT LIKE GOD. THE WORD SAYS THAT HIS WAYS/THOUGHTS ARE HIGHER THAN OURS AS THE SKY IS HIGHER THAN THE EARTH. HIS WILL IS 'NEVER' DETOURED. IT IS BY FAITH THAT WE MUST KNOW THIS. WHATEVER GOD IS ALLOWING IN YOUR LIFE AT THIS TIME IN YOUR LIFE...IS 'EXACTLY' WHAT HE WANTS FOR YOU AT THE MOMENT. 'NOTHING' IS TRANSPIRING THAT HE IS NOT IN CONTROL OF. ABSOLUTELY 'NOTHING'! YOU SEEM TO BE UNDER THE MISTAKEN IMPRESSION THAT TIME HAS PASSED YOU BY...THAT IT'S TOO LATE FOR YOU TO DO WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE. 'TIME' MEANS NOTHING TO GOD! THERE IS NO CHANGE IN HIM! NOTHING CAN CHANGE HIS PLANS IN OUR LIFE. I LEANRED THIS FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. I HAVE BEEN BROKEN BEFORE, I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO RISE. IT IS DURING MY TIME/S OF BREAKING GOD INSPIRES ME WITH WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND STRENGTH. I SHARE HIS WORDS AS ARTICLES AND POEMS HERE ON AD AND I OFTEN RE-READ HIS WORDS. PLEASE READ; 'OUR SIGNIFICANCE' AND 'IT'S TOO HEAVY'. THEY ARE NOT SERMONS BUT THE VOICE OF GOD SPEAKING TO ME DURING MY DARKEST HOURS. I FOUND THAT BEING SHATTERED IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR US TO DESIRE THAT GOD 'DRAW US' CLOSER! WE ARE HUMAN...WE ARE SUPPOSED TO BREAK. GOD IS GOD...HE, AND ONLY HE, RESTORES! I WILL NOT TELL YOU NOT TO CRY, MY FRIEND, BECAUSE WHEN WE HURT, 'WE CRY'. BUT PLEASE, LOOK UP AND WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT....GRAB AHOLD OF JESUS WITH ALL YOUR HEART, SOUL AND MIND! IT BEGINS AT THE FOOT OF THE CROSS...WITH PRAYER. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS.

Ironically a very strong and forceful poem. God won't give you more than you can handle , has to be one of the worst statements ever uttered. As has been said, hope this is not a reflection of your current state. I can empathize with it completely.

Your words ring loud and clear...
I have found that acceptance first and foremost helps...
'I am where I am'....are the first tentative steps to freedom from
that awful uncontrollable feeling...and the accompanying pain..
I hope like Ron, that this is an illustration...
If not...
Love and a hug...

Belle,
trust me when I tell you I understand!
Finally, when the light shines the brightest then you will know what to do. You have to be ready and willing to walk toward that hope without ever looking back. It will come and you will be saved!
You are an amazing writer and never forget that. Embrace that power you possess through your words.
Listen to your inner voice it will guide you.
Much peace light and love,
Amber

There is at least one article writer on this website that can give real, honest and helpful advice for almost any kind of problem. I have noticed that few give her any comments on her articles. But many seek out her practical, down-to-earth advice.

A great poem about a problem that so many have. I certainly hope that you don't have this problem and are just providing an illustration.

Oh no, I have no friggin' pious words, although you may think so. The solution is within yourself, not asking for someone to solve it for you.

Oh! I know this feeling all too well. I wish I had answers for you but I don't. All I an offer is emotional support and friendship. There is no worse pain than that which the heart and soul can feel.

Love ya!

Jane

River of Memories: An Appalachian Boyhood by David Thompson
