I relate to this. "wounded by the keen edge of disrespect and betrayal" is a reality I know well, Belle. Especially in my 20's and 30's. I also understand how the knee-jerk to that can easily be: "we learned to subsist on the sustenance of our own soulful thoughts and fantasies"... and doing so often to avoid, or circumnavigate, the feckless hordes that inhabit every creative field. Nurturing our dreams is imperative to maintaining a healthy mind. Amen. Getting into the higher elevations (literally and figuratively) has always been a most effectual way to air out the mental attic (so to speak) to re-focus and re-energize. Enjoyed this.
