Journey

I'm on a journey, so are you

mine has been long and arduous

maybe yours has been hard too

it's the journey, it's the journey

many young ones now maintain

but what if the journey is miserable

and only the peaceful destination

will bring the rest you long for?

The journey has been diversified

bright sun, pelting rain, wind and ice

when I was young, I never even

thought about time and its passing

now the thoughts of racing time

come to me often, most important

it doesn't matter when time runs out

when a journey ends, another begins

and perhaps the next journey

will be pleasant and even joyful

it's the destination that inspires us

to press on down a rocky, path

at times I have crawled along

bruised and broken by the rocks

God, please let the next journey

be smoother, less exhausting, shorter

LA BELLE, WHAT A WONDERFUL PROSE SHARING. YOU KNOW, THROUGH THE YEARS, I'VE OFTEN HEARD PERSONAL TESTIMONIES AND MESSAGES FROM NOTABLE MINISTERS THAT SAYS ITS THE JOURNEY THAT IS SO VALUABLE TO US FOR, WE GROW, LEARN AND GAIN CLEARER SPIRITUAL INSIGHT AND STRENGTH WHILE WE JOURNEY. BUT, IN SPITE ALL OF EVERYTHING I'VE HEARD ABOUT 'THIS JOURNEY' WE ARE MAKING, I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO AGREE THAT THE AFOREMENTIONED ACQUIRED THINGS ARE WHY I'VE REMAINED ON THIS ROAD. FOR, AS FAR BACK AS I CAN REMEMBER IT'S BEEN DIFFICULT, PAINFUL, EXHAUSTING, MIND-BOGGLING, DISAPPOINTING AND DOWNRIGHT DISCOURAGING, AMONG OTHER THINGS. THE ONLY JOY THAT I'VE KNOWN ON THIS JOURNEY HAS BEEN MY RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST. 'HE' IS THE REASON WHY I CAN LAUGH, SING, HOPE, TRUST, ENDURE AND PERSEVERE THROUGH ALL THAT HAS COME MY WAY. THUS, THE ANTICIPATION AND SURETY OF KNOWING THAT HE GOES BEFORE ME AND AWAITS MY ARRIVAL 'HOME' IS THE ONLY REASON I HAVE NOT GIVEN UP AND GOTTEN OFF THIS ROAD OF LIFE. IN OTHER WORDS; I CAN UNDERSTAND SUICIDE...IF ONE DOES NOT HAVE FAITH IN THE ETERNAL REWARD WITH JESUS CHRIST. BUT, I AM ABLE TO PRESS-ON, NO MATTER HOW LONG AND DIFFICULT IT MAY BE BECAUSE, FOR ME...'IT IS NOT' ABOUT MY JOURNEY...BUT, INDEED MY 'DESTINATION' AND...THE FACT THAT I KNOW, THAT I KNOW, THAT I KNOW 'WHO' AWAITS ME. THANKS FOR SHARING THIS KEEPER POETESS, ENJOYED IMMENSELY. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS

Whatever obstacles have come your way you seem so able to overcome them both by expression and by your prodigious outpouring of creative work. And your ability to agree to disagree and move on.

Still... your difficult journey has (over the years) offered poetic insight and joy to many readers. Me included. Thank you for having the courage to share your God given gift honestly. Perhaps the most challenging journey in life is the 16 inches between our head and our heart. Seasons best Belle. rlc

We all travel on our journey, and we are the ones in the driver's seat. It's how we drive and where we decide to go that counts and God is with us all the way.
