Dinosaurs
We're dinosaurs; remnants of the past
we're not modern or with it
youth and beauty just don't last
no need to chase after it
he still opens doors for me
helps me out of the car
he shows me respect for all to see
our love will last and go far
at restaurants he pulls out my chair
our conversation is deep or witty
he compliments my dress and hair
being modern would be a pity
I believe in taking care of my man
making dinner is what I do
If I'm too tired he understands
unconditional love so true
if we stopped watching news
we could clean up our potty mouth
reports so ridiculous and untrue
have sent real honesty south
being dinosaurs is really where it's at
growing old together is better
even if you're lumpy and fat
together whatever the weather
we walk hand in hand, arm in arm /
people watch us and are amazed
our love is secure with no harm
dinosaurs together the rest of our days
Your side step into the news was unbecoming the poem. You could've said it another way without dissing how hard it is to seek out the truth and report it accurately.
