Heaven

Forgone, with no fruit to bear
And yet I watch with a gentle stare
The passing leaves among the trees
As blades of grass sway gently in the breeze

Clouds pass slowly amidst a sea of white
That holds me stead fast in its sights
Beneath the crest of celestial light
Was this heaven, before my sight

The supple sound as nature rings
Beneath the hum where sparrows sing
With the sounds of the song, I sing along
But there are no words to nature's song

Slip beside the light of day
As daylight slips beneath the grey
Beneath this sea of celestial light
Where now I rest beside your light
