Tears Seem To Echo

Tears seem to echo like the rain
Is there trouble in my brain
So long had I waited beneath the canopy
While they were dying in the streets

Then I heard a voice one day
Shall we go out in and just play
I’ve felt the rhythm of the street
And listened to the faded beat

For so long we have been wrong
And all we did was play along

Were there tears of ever after?
Were we ignorant of the sounds of laugher?
Born was I of flesh and bone
And now I walk these empty streets alone

Hear the echoes of the night
Beneath the moon that shone so bright

For now my heart is so much stronger
And it seems the days are getting longer
