Time Will Tell

Would daylight be the same
Beneath the cloud of acid rain
Smog clouds gather on the rise
As the tears fell from my eyes

Levy’s leave pollution in the lake
As sewage washes up in the break
Substantial were the culling fields
To make the quoter yearly yield

As the forests slip from sight
Will we slip into the night
Unsightly we have been obscene
Like we didn’t really need the green

As the ozone fades from sight
Will we lose our gentle light
Among the heavens in eternal night

Quest, before it’s much too late
Why is it now we hesitate
Beside the river, before the break
Time will tell if it’s our fate
