Remember when the days were fun
We would ride our bikes, and walk and run
We had never heard of fancy CDs
Music came on big black shinny LPs

And in the streets, there was applause all around
Beside the rhythm of Leroy brown

Hippies with flowers in their hair
While others laugh without a care
Water fights in the back yard
Gray fort so extra hard

Though the fields we would run
Beneath the light of mother sun

And late at night when it was late
Retire to bed but hesitate
Looking underneath the bed

Till morning light where daylight breaks
And we would swim down by the lake

Amazed by all the candy swirls
