As We Bid Goodnight

Seasons change or so it seems
But is it true or just a dream
For in the artic when it is light
Antarctica dwells in perpetual night

Like the forests shed their skins
As the cold winds linger in
For once the valley was a beautiful sight
But now a sleeping wasteland dressed in white

White sands don’t seem glimmer as much
Beneath cloudy skies and ill weather as such

Azure the sky would shine some days
While cracks appeared within the clay
Rivers that flowed now turned to dust
Rustic looking just like rust

And we would lie on sandy shores
Tanning once and then explore
Between the rocks the crabs would play
As we bid goodnight to those summers rays

An ill wind blows within my sight
As seasons change within the night

I love this one and it seems there is almost as much written between the lines or...perhaps left to the reader's interpretation for I can see not only the natural seasonal change images but also the affects of things like Global warming in this poem.
Well done

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
