Nor Will It Dwindle

Sediment resting in the sands
Am I to thee a better man
Then to walk among these urban sands

Nor am I bitter or even hateful
For in my heart forever faithful
For these an echo within my chest
That beats behind my manly breast

Yearning for your tenderness
And not to feel your emptiness
Hush how are those harsh words
To have listened to those prison verbs

For there’s an epitaph within my heart
And there are tears that I impart
For there are echoes in the dusk
And I shall not surrender to my lust

For better a man, am I to thee
With the hope that I might be
One hand for every humble
When I’m weak I shall not crumble

For there’s an echo deep below
That isn’t barren like the snow
Nor will it dwindle in the cold
Even in the days, when I am old
For there’s a light within my soul
