Venture Forth Into The Night

Shallow hand and heavy in heart
So you said as daylight fled
And others weep and other shed
Thoughts that whispered in their heads

Plato shone an amazing light
Before the sea of heavens plight
Not unjust, but fair thee well
For there is love among this spell

Cherished elixirs found in me
What daylight brings is found to be
So I should know hounds of hell
Where no noble steads are found to dwell

This is what the others yearn
Beside the fires as they burn
Compassion creed and I shall follow
You among the whispering hollows

Creed not and I shall never answer
For who among you is the lancer
Strive I heed by daylight creed
And there is hope as I precede

What sword is slung among the hallows
To hear the screams of countless sorrows
Venture forth into the night
The passage creed by yonder light
