There Are Voices

Sheltered as the world appears
There are voices among the tears
Silent whisper in the mist
Sometimes it is hard to resist

In the distance echoed light
Among the stars in their twilight
Like the grains of fallen sand
That pass so swiftly through my hand

For my heart has known such affection
And there are times in my recollection
Tiny whispers in my head
While silently dreaming in my bed

As I listen to the rhythm of my heart
Late at night where tears depart

Hallowed be thy breath therein
To utter words from deep within
Silent whispers echo through the years
Echoes whispered shadowed fears
