Patchwork quilt far off in the distance
Sewn together by wooden pillars, metal wire
No sign of a needle, no seam to find the thread
Where the Alps hide in silence
Void of shape among the haze
Among the valley in the hillside
Where the wild pine trees grow
Where winding trails lead to the city just below
Palomino skies cast their shape among the hue
Across the hilltop sun drenched plain
Cloud cast shadows seem to loom
Basking in the daylight
Ebbed by winds in tidal blow
As I walk among the mountain heather
Around the crater rim upon the trail
Boundless beauty to confine me
Rustic look in sombre glow
In this place where heavenly clouds have walked
Boulders caress the hillside
Where the wildflowers bloom
Rustic land in hidden thunder
Among the cloud drift in the cliff side
Hovers a falcon where he glides
Earthly haven among the heavens hue
