Whatever Happened To Days Gone By

Wind swept mountain, valley plains
Alas one world but we’re not the same
Mirrored reflections cast our thoughts
Governed by principals of what we are taught

Whatever happened to the days,
Where you didn’t need to lock your doors
Seems along the way we left our morals on the floor
Whatever happened to the clear blue sea?
Now it seems the planet’s dying, because of litter in the streams

One hand in polly’s pocket, seems we didn’t only litter earth
As they say farewell to another satellite
Whatever happened to the clear star spangled lights
Alas now it seems, they are like pinholes in the night

See the tomorrow’s children may be our future
But who are we, the native polluters

See the world believes it is civilised
However the planet is being cannibalised
Another species on the brink
Alas I hope, we think before it sinks

What of the future, when the city is grey
What happen to the fields, by which we once played?
As the ozone fades from sight
Will we surrender, unto the eternal night?

Misty River, mountain peak
Alas one moment in time, before we speak
Who remembers, better days!
Where children played, without the haze
