I Can Confess My Claims
A hundred years of the industrial age
And the acid rain weeps like tears in mournful skies
As the forest slips from sight, are we blinded by carbons and fluorescent light
If we turned the leaf of another page, who could we be subject to the glided cage
One mans burden, is another ones rage
Why do we shed our tears in fluorescent skies
Among the clouds of war ravaged tearful cries
Funny how the animals shed their skins
If we could only see the light within
We could live in the light therein
In our arrogance the world we knew
Has slipped beneath the silhouette hue
Once I believed in the human faith
But I can’t ignore, our ignorant side
Tearful whims, with colourful cries
Can you not hear the planet that sighs
We sleep in silence among our sighs
Can you hear the tears of innocent eyes
As I’m appalled by our hateful hand
We have raped our only home
What is left among the dusty plains
Among the tearful skies in acid rains
Weep thy children among your clans
There is terror upon our blood filled hands
Another forest slips away
While another city sinks among a cloud of haze
Civilised they seem to think
Should we bury our heads, and take another drink
As the life is snipped among our turf
I’ve seen the clouds in tidal surf
Should you take a look at the things you’ve got
Another thing perished to bring you your rot
See there is blood shed among our tidal sands
Can you really, wipe the tears from our hands?
I’m no saint, and I can confess my claim
As we are living in a world of pain
They call us civilised, perhaps! Ye jest
Or are we the bringers, of the planets death
