With My Breath, I Solemnly Take
If I dreamed a dream of whom I could be
Would the world just frown, and look back at me
Once I thought I knew myself
But that was before I looked back at myself
What a fool I would have been
If I had held my heart in a beautiful dream
What love has touched to ebb my heart
Beside still waters rivers part
Once I was a gentle friend
And alas I have fallen like a broken man
What love is tender and never shared?
By light of my window my soul lies bare
With my breath, I solemnly take
The world beneath where I find my fate
Had I been the jesters queen
To marvel forth, without my dream
Once I lived in a lover’s heart
Where now there's rivers, upon my heart
Quest I was the jest of fools
Who lived a life among the cruel!
