Excellent descriptive write Karla. Now if only you
could control the fear and make it work for you! You
have the power to turn fear into strength, no one can
do it for you, but God will help you. I'm praying for
you and Karla, as you asked, I know those storms can
petrify anyone. Especially tornadoes. That's one reason
I moved from Illinois to California.Keep writing, and
thinking up those great riddles, you'll get through this;-)

I must say, you deal with it well in poetry. Chin up.
Karla you are not the only one who fears storms, when rain starts coming, heavy rain I mean I start freaking, I really don't think I could do Texas in the winter to well...
God Bless

I know this fear...I used to have it...
I don't know why it is not as strong as
it used to be...but I am much better about
it all...Actually I worry more about my
family than I do myself...You are not crazy
karla...those storms can be horrid...and I
don't blame you one bit...just pray...
and stay in a closet or someplace safe...

You're not crazy, Karla. Many have phobias - about many different things, but it sounds like you may need to move somewhere that is tornado and thunderstorm free. Hang in there; every storm does pass.

Put flourescent lights everywhere in the house that you can,
don't watch depressing TV shows, read Psalms, especially chapter 55,
wear bright colors and look at garden magazines...
knowing that storms bring beautiful flowers, not just damage.
Prayers sent your way, too!

You're not crazy. panic attacks happen to a lot of people, I know I've had the same feels you express in your poem. There are medications you can get to calm you if you feel this coming on. Taking them isn't a sign of weekness or a sign that you're crazy, it shows you have courage. It's not a good to feel that you are about to die. Scary. Hope you feel better. My thoughts are with you.
