"LOOK BEYOND" (C) Copy written, 1 December, 2004, by Karla Dorman. ~~~~~~~~ Look beyond These arthritic legs That need the friendly support of a cane To help them get around. ~ Look beyond The thick lenses I wear To see the world in all of its beauty, Even when there is none. ~ Look beyond The etchings on my face That life's experiences have drawn there And ask me if I'll trade. ~ Look beyond The words I have written And get to know the heart of a Poet For that is what I am. ~ Look beyond My disability That society says is imperfect And then tell me "I can't..." ~ JUST YOU WATCH. I WILL JUST TO SPITE YOU. ~ Look beyond For what you think you see Is not necessarily what you see. And they tell me I'm blind. ~~~~~~~~

What we think we see is hardly ever what's Really there. A person never knows what blessings they might miss out on if they don't look beyond. Great write, Karla!
Brava! An attitudw with true grit! You shine like the brightest star and pity those who can't see anything but exteriors and even then they are blind to the beauty of each unique one of us as created to suit the Creator. If we suit Him we are indeed beautiful, and he's the one that counts the most!
