Wing'ed messengers
arrived just in time
to save the Poet
from drastic action -

Friends got on their knees
interceding on
the Poet's behalf
for a miracle -

Reckless times called for
desperate measures
as evidenced by
multitudes of prayer -

And God delivered -
They surrounded her
and loved her despite
her self punishment -

They believed in her
and her poetry -
somehow, she forgot
that along the way -

She begged forgiveness -
for her attitude
and her jealous snits -
there was no excuse -

The Poet picked up
a piece of paper
and a brand new pen
and began writing -

It didn't matter
any more if her
poems weren't read -
just that they were penned -

Sometimes in rhyme, and
always in meter
she sang as she wrote -
she loved life again -

That's all that counted -
she wrote joyfully
until the last page
of the book had come.
