Amen! Karla, you've touched on something that many are missing in this. The devastation is horrendous, but for many the destruction will be a wake-up call to turn their lives around and offer a second chance. Humans. Are we ALL bad? Are we ALL greedy? Damn, what's wrong with wanting a nice house? When did THAT become a crime. Now that nature has destroyed my home I am supposed to wail and moan because I had all that? You know, people work hard and deprive themselves of certain things to acquire the house of their dreams, not all of us are no-count bastards and bitches.
Karla, you have great clarity and insight when you write about the physical and emotional plight faced in the midst of great tragedy, and you offer us all a second chance to see with fresh perspective and make the best possible choices. Dawn
