Poem Artwork

Life can come roaring in and body slam
you to the mat;
you stagger to your feet, and then
yer down again.
Or maybe Life whomps you upside the jaw;
everything grows
dim ... dimmer... then fades to the deepest dark
you've ever seen.
Perhaps Life kicks you below the belt like
its wont to do;
when you're at your most vunerable,
that's when it strikes.
Or it sweeps your feet out from under you,
trying to keep
you unbalanced and guessing the next move
it's planned for you.
Your shoulders know the mat intimately;
they've spent a lot
of time getting pinned by the heavyweight
champ of the world ...

There is a trick that will beat the strongest foe;
you see, the trick
to playing whup ass with your opponant is to do
absolutely
nothing at all, except to keep getting up each time
Life knocks you down;
eventually it will get the message you ain't going
to play that game.
It will wear itself to a frazzle and collapse,
exhausted, and
you will have won--your resiliancy to overcome,
despite the pain,
proves that brains are better than brawn.

Bless you, Karla... sorry, am I so outa the loop?! Will of course keep you in my prayers as, huc-hum, I feel I can identify with this a little of late! :)) But you go-girl... you are so, so right; we only "fail" if we cease to get up and go on and all the GREAT inventors will say that they didn't "fail" a couple thousand times before, say, making the lightbulb, but they just eliminated 1999 ways of not doing it! You got faith, brains, talent, beauty, friends, breathe, will... the list goes on and on. Whatever seeks to stack itself against you is NOOOOOOOO match! A great poem of encouragement to us all, whatever our individual struggle might be right now. TY LOL Kate xx

That's using your brain, Karla. Sooner or later, the opponent gets bored and moves on. Life has its share of ups and downs. The key is to stay up without capsizing in the choppy waters of life. Nice attitude today, my friend! Keep it up!

That is the way the game has to be played if you are ever going to win. It is up to us to keep on keepin on. It is not what life tosses at us that matters, but how we deal with it. Great job, Karla and welcome back to the land of the fighting souls.
Take care,
Sherry
