gunshots sound
screaming cries
(why am i in pain)
head spinning
vision fading
(why is it so dark)
blood flowing
heartbeat slows
(why do i have to die)
paramedics
try--no use
he's gone
flatline
why did this happen
such a waste
young man with
so much potential
now his life is over
for what--his shoes
his clothes
because of his race
for twenty dollars
his mama cries
she can't believe it
it can't be true
such a good boy
always listens
respects his mama
works to help me out
such a senseless death
confusion
at the time of death
