The wind scatters my poems before the gathering clouds; lightning scorches the words before I can get them written; thunder laughs in derision because I look at the sky and tremble in fear ... the rain wraps itself around my shoulders and tells me to write what I see:
And so I write the storm.
It's all I know; the storm and I are sisters, united by the troubled atmosphere surrounding us that threatens to destroy all we've accomplished. The only way to deny the storm's power is to become the storm and show it once and for all who the boss really is:
I knew that someday you would become the boss of the storms you so fervently at one time feared...you show it who you are each time you post a great poem such as this...such a change, for the better, you have made in your poetry since first we met...good for you! Ed
This is an excellant write Karla and one that tears into the power of the storm with the power of the mind. YOu captured the strength of your soul challenging the wrath of mother nature. Well done.
I've seen it building, the calm before the storm. The writers who have worked with a good storm, the Goddess watching over, have came out unscathed and empowered. Mythology has came directly from the storm. A good storm generates electricity that shocks writing material back onto the page, streaming in from the water. New interests, new words, new energy, and new aims, symbolical material coming out of the unknown. Life-bringing write, Karla! POwer uP!
