PART ONE

a rain and wind swept night
with clouds scudding across
the surface of the moon.
sometimes you see it &
sometimes you don't. there's a
hurricane approaching.
should have left when the watch
was upgraded to a
hurricane warning, but
he said no, we'd ride it
out. we'd be safe here, he
said. i have no choice but
to listen to him. i
am being held hostage
by a crazed killer i
should not have let in...i
knew better. he said he
was having car problems
and needed to use my
phone. stupid! now am i
going to have to pay
for my stupidity
with my life?

PART TWO

wind's rising, screaming.
high-pitched like banshees
searching for my soul. the
roar of the approaching
storm grows louder. there's no
escape. storm surge floods the
only way i had to
get out of this place. the
power goes out. my heart
jumps into my throat. great.
trapped in here with someone
i really loathe. how could
i have fallen for his
charming ways? the paper
said he was soft spoken,
a gentlemen...if that
were true , why were all of
the women found with their
heads cut off?

Caught in the Act by Paul Lonardo

"We walked in on a surreal scene. There are few words, if any, to accurately describe the abject horror..." What Jeannie and Kevin McDonough saw was a wanted, multi-state serial killer about to take his next victim - their own daughter. W
