baby boy, 6 months old,
with his black eyes so
large and tummy so big,
his little legs & arms like sticks...
feeding tube in his nose and an
iv in his head...he looks so sad.
i stop & pick him up and
hold him close in my arms. i
let him know i will not leave him.
slowly withering from aids, he's
orphaned--with no family left; he
was shunned by his village; no
one could help...they were sick, too.
he is now cared for by strangers
who found him dying; they were able
to bring him back (for the time being)
an old man in a small body, his sad
eyes filled with unrelenting pain,
then the black eyes close one last
time, breathing ceases forever...he
was so young...what a tragedy. it
should not have to be like this. what
can we do to save another
tiny african child?
