Crippl'd though I am under the elements of fire and water, I persevere, hanging on to silver'd threads of hope - I will not let them quench my desire to live. Even though I walk through the valley of death, the mountains are just ahead of me: and I press ever onward, towards the prize waiting for me at the summit, victory in knowing the journey was worth it:

Great one...When I was in the badlands Dakota I bought a pic that hangs on my wall, it has a pic of eagles, with the phrase-climb high, climb far, your goal the sky, your aim the star.
Fire and water aptly describe the elements of never-ending pain, Karla, and I am sorry for your suffering. On-going pain is a total bummer, like a sea-sickness that you can never be free of while still on ship. Love and prayers here. Your silver'd threads make me think of puppet strings which literally hold us up sometimes... they are empowering strings of grace and determination that are divinely inspired and given, I believe. And, yes, the journey is everything. So often we have just a destination in mind, but certainly God is more interested in how we walk the walk, I think. May you find refuge on that great eagle's pinions and find yourself carried when the going gets toooo tough. Empassioned and straight from the heart, like all good poetry should be.
