An accurate description of welfare systems everywhere in the world, Karla. My big question is why the wasted money on wars and space adventures etc., when people at home are scraping the barrel...!

A feeling sadly known by many.

For those of us who are genuinely in need of welfare, yes we become a stat in the govt records. A number in a book!
No dignity afforded anymore, exposed open wide for all those scathing eyes that havent a damn clue, till they find themselves ill, unable to work, life gone wrong, finances in the dunny...
You can never know anothers pain or circumstance, till you've walked a mile in their shoes!!

There is certainly a need for questions and when dealing with money that belongs to taxpayers due diligence is necessary however when the employers hire their interviewers more consideration should be given to employees with tact and people skills. Well written glimpse into the user side of the system.

The very word 'Welfare' leaves a bitter taste in most mouths... those who don't want to need it. Some unfortunately do not have tastebuds. As my cousin who once worked in the welfare says 'The system works in mysterious ways..' and I can't repeat the rest of it...))

Taxpayers don't mind contributing to those welfare recipients who are honestly in need of assistance. Many are rightfully entitled because of unfortunate circumstance. Many have served their country, are ill, handicapped, unable to obtain employment, or are victims of many other things that have qualified them for welfare assistance. Unfortunately, as always, there are many others who take advantage and abuse the system. These are the ones that make the taxpayers see "red!"

It's terrible ,but nothing comes easy in life. Even when we think others have it so much better,we never know their troubles. There is no free lunch. In one way or another we have to pay, sometimes with our pride and our hearts.Hang in there Karla,it will get better. Keeping you in prayer.
