...War on terror continues, ragin' on foreign soils, while we're losin' the battle right here, in our backyard, here at home. Little babies, i n n o c e n t s, slaughter'd in halls and classrooms (schools, the killin' fields), learnin' about violence, here at home. The doors to decency have slamm'd shut with a final BANG!, pervert'd closets open'd wider and w i d e r, here at home. Church! No longer a Heaven, God and prayer remov'd from the pulpit, murderin' demons took the Spirit's place, here at home. Pay the babysitter, the one with fifty-two inch eyes, the one poisonin' the minds of our little ones, here at home. ...And meanwhile, promises are bein' made to be broken, tears fallin' on deafen'd ears, HOW MANY HAVE TO DIE? Here at home.

Ah, Karla, a very good write! I say the world has gone insane! IMO, the answer starts with God, and trickles down to self-accountability and responsibility. Timely and excellent write.
It all seems so helpless. It has to start at home. These kids are not getting the disipline or closeness children need to grow into a feeling human being. We have to all get involved. Great piece Karla, keep it flowing.
I hear the cry that torments us all. The spirit of anti-Christ is among us...in the media, television, in schools, in governments...everywhere. None but Jesus can put a halt to this madness, Karla. We must remain steadfast in our prayers in spite of those who foolishly think there is no God. You have written a powerful poem, my friend!
unfortunately, many more ... in any extensive shift of civilzation madness will certainly abound ... it will take time and the strength for mankind's spirit to evolve into a developed being that has no desire to kill and destroy ...

An excellent poem and spot on in most of its content. However, one thing we have to remember is that Government doesn't and shouldn't raise our children. That's up to parents. Also, the communities each one where people who do these crimes live, are responsible to a degree in how they are run. The local district leaders and politicians can be held accountable for their part. We should be more precise in where we cast blame, so things can be fixed. Blaming any one president or national government, is just a waste of time in this kind of incident. What that man did who killed the Amish is first of all his own fault. After that, you can look at how he was raised, then other types of conditions. We need to get serious about how we can improve this world and one president whomever he may be, is not going to do it on his own. It's easy to salve our conscience by blaming a leader we don't like, but that doesn't solve anything.
Strong and emotinal write that covers all that is wrong in this world today. Well said my friend.
