This isn't about me, but it is about the millions who suffer abuse at the hands of wife-husband-child beaters. If my words save one life, they will be worth it.

I know the terror here. His first name was Ralph. He yelled, beat his fists. knocked me down with the car door and he conditioned me so I could walk away without looking back. Thank God!He would've killed me had I stayed. Get out is the first step. Don't look back.

Only cowards and insecure men behave in this manner, I feel, Karla. For what well-adjusted,decent human-being would want to take advantage of a woman like this? But God sees all, and this behavior will not go unpunished in the end. This is a sad piece...telling it as it is. Well done brave soul.
I have never been involved in a family of abuse but in talking to those who have, I appreciate the bravery it takes to get out while you can. Nicely done Karla
