the cowboy is all set & and he's rarin' to go
event of his life--the national rodeo

he's ready but nervous, time of reckonin' near
it all comes down to this--will he conquor his fear

he's drawn a twister--the rankest bull of them all
prayin' he hangs on, and that he won't take the fall

he remembers last time--the hard fall to the dirt
stepped on and stomped on, he was seriously hurt

the docs did not know if he'd ever walk again
it took a long time but he overcame the pain

the chute opens--the crowd, roaring, jumps to its feet
they roar their approval, watch the cowboy compete

the bull twisting, turning, tries to throw him aside
but the cowboy hangs on for the eight second ride

livin' in texas, i had to write about a national
pasttime here, the rodeo. i could never do
this...some of those guys are crazy!! i don't
see the sense of tangling with over a thousand
pounds of buckin' bull or horse hide. i'll leave
well enough alone, thank you very much!! :)
i'll keep my feet right where they belong...on
the ground.
