As Susan's comments show, I too was thinking about the mudslides in California. But guess what? they keep on building their houses there. I never could understand that. Well done, Karla.

I watched a documentary about the mudslides in Laguna Nigel, Califotnia and the devastation there. How did Californians solve that problem...they shored it up , cleared the mud, debris and homes...built more. I'll be damned. What will be the news...again one day? When do we learn? Thanks for giving us reminders. One day it may sink in.

Ever so true, Karla. Man will never learn. They just keep repeating the same mistakes over and over and over. You'd think they don't have a brain, or perhaps the area of rational though is defunct!

It frightens me the way the selta got hit by hurricane over there...looking at it all from the other side of the world I was shocked that so little was done by your leader to help the people there.Yes,it will happen again and it may get worse...ants eventually move I think...people tend to have more hope than ants.
Nature and her might will win in the end and when that happens lets pray that there is a new better place for those poor souls to live.
Your great poem is true and powerful.
