I do not know WHERE this one came from......

(memories of warmth, long
ago, memories of peace
in the quiet shelter
of the womb;
the only sound was mother's
heartbeat.
it did not sound of war:
it spoke of love)

Why, then, do I follow
a different drum?  Why are
my fists bloodied with hate?
Why are my
brothers lying on the ground,
broken?
And why are there tears on
your face, Mother?

I do not know who my
father is.  But you see him
when you look at me --
there I am,
haunted in your eyes, the
Bad Seed
you wished you'd aborted
when you conceived.

(c) 2007, Karla Dorman.  (1/28)

You shouldn't think that way! You are precious in God's eyes and all who know you. Remember, you are designed and created by God; Don't listen to liars! You are precious and highly favored!

God Bless your soul,
Sharon

My dear Karla, Satan has clever ways of reminding one of past hurts...this might well have been one of them. Thing to remember is don't allow him to torment you like this. Recognize the memory as not from God and disregard it. Resist the devil, my friend, and he will flee. Encourage him, and he will hang around only to torment and destroy.
Hope I wasn't out of line here, precious!

God Bless
Love and hugs
Lena

You do not know where this one came from? Sometimes I awake with a poem singing in my head and all I have to do is (quickly) copy it into my notebook (before it evaporates in my daily thoughts). Sometimes these poems are not nice. Sometimes I tear that page out of my notebook and edit that poem out of my mind. Sometimes this is best. We won't know where the poem/vision came from, but it came from outside of us, not from a womb-memory, and we need not take responsibility for any such "memory."

Karla, be blessed!
Ted

This is life here. You are living and a precious one to hundreds. Your fsther's loss is more than he will ever know so you've sort of blessed him. Forgive all and set your mind to loving and appreciating YOU. That's the importance here.
Love,
Susan

Karla, how horrible it is for a child to feel this way. What a powerful pen this is, a reminder to those who look the other way when one is lost.

Unwanted and unloved children usually live a tortured, confused, sad and lonely existence and I often wonder why the mother went through with the pregnancy or didn't at least have enough heart to give up the child, at birth, to a family who really wanted to raise him/her. Strong and gut-wrenching poem, Karla.

Take care,

Sherry

Such body and mind-blowing energy here, Karla, and profound empathy. You have the heart and soul of a poet who can readily absorb what it is to live another's life and see through their eyes. Yes indeed, how many "bad seeds" first saw themselves as that in a mother's eyes? Agonisingly powerful and I am sure in some way many of us can relate... even if on a (hopefully!) minor scale. "Irrational" anger runs through the veins of many, but there will always have been a root and a fundamental cause... Bless you and thank you. K xx
