waves crash over me
rinse the negativity
right out of my soul

dying autumn leaves
bleeding against azure skies
gasp their last breath, fall

permanent tear stains
line the face of the cheetah
they're the "cat that cries"

snow coats the landscape
blanketing all that i see
winter wonderland

lightning rips the sky
tears it apart, angrily
slashing it in half

fog slowly moves in
shrouds the world in mystery
hides it from my view

amber colored eyes
peer out from under my bed
it's only the cat!

haiku is an ancient japanese form
of poetry. it has three lines;
it has five syllables in the first line,
seven in the second, and five more
in the third. it usually describes
nature. i love writing haiku, too!!
