To those who perished in the June, 2007 flooding in Haltom City and Gainsville, Texas, and their loved ones.
Over 10 inches of rain fell in two and a half hours in these two communities, decimating homes and lives: five people lost so far, including two little girls; more people missing.
When's enough ENOUGH??
S A D N E S S puddles 'round my feet as I read the morning news: storm and flood take their toll. Little girls should not drown; all hope should not float downstream, only to CRASH! into more heartache as they pick up what's left of their lives; those along the floodplain should not have to fight high water each time it rains ... no easy answer to the hard question of: when's enough ENOUGH???
Why we write...to find peace within and scribe our thoughts away for others to feel the release, the love, the compassion of tender thoughts, the healing...

An excellent write my friend, from the heart of a caring person. Life is hard to understand, but I have learned not to question...but pray for understanding. I pray for the comfort for those who have lost so much. As that old hymn states, we will understand in the sweet by and by...my heart aches for their loss also...so sad.

Another well written, heartfelt piece my friend! My veterinarian works in Denison, lives in Sherman, but other there also live in Gainsville. Tried calling and finally got through about 2pm. A couple of friends in Gainsville, met them while RVing up at Lake Texoma. Anything they need let us know. But you are right, ENOUGH ALL READY!!Want to go up there and lend a hand, but my vet says not yet, do not want a flood of people comeing in until the bulk of the cleanup is done. For now I pray......

Please add prayers for the families of 9 firefighters who lost their lives saving others, in Charleston SC. Our son, Nick, (the Master Architect), lives & works there...it is dreadful, and the worst loss of firefighters in our history - except for 9-11 :(

Heartbreaking; that's what it is! I wonder, too, why God allows this to happen. It's like He is mad at Texas: too much rain or none. No happy medium. Glad it wasn't here; but still, it was scary hearing about it and seeing the videos on tv! Just up the road from us; tooo close for comfort! My heart goes out to the people in Haltom City and Gainesville, Texas; may God be with them as they try to put their lives back together!
